In early 2007 Alloy USA acquired Precision Gear and then in early 2008 Omix-ADA acquired Alloy USA along with Precision Gear. Omix-ADA is a wholesale Jeep manufacturing company that wanted to add the axle and ring and pinion line to their extensive line of Jeep replacement parts and accessories. Under the umbrella of the Omix-ADA family of products Precision Gear offers Jeeps, some car and trucks applications an extensive list of ring and pinion options. The acquisition of Alloy USA and Precision Gear completed the Omix-ADA family full line of Jeep products.
Tom Reider was the founder of Precision Gear. He began racing in the 1950?s and raced until 1986 when he started Precision Gear. Precision Gear started in the drag racing business, but soon moved into VW and Corvair transaxles, and then into off road and NASCAR applications. As the business began to grow Tom made the decision to go into business for himself, leaving is job at Ford.
